Midi stopped responding

OK. So my embarrassment at not being able to figure this out for myself has been outweighed by by need to have it work.

Very simple midi setup: Midiman Keystation 61 into Digi001, TX81Z out of Digi001. This setup unexpectedly stopped sending or receiving MIDI, either from the controller or from MIDI tracks in projects in PT.

I have confirmed Keystation to TX81Z functions properly without the Digi001. I have trashed and rebuilt the Midi setup in PT. I have trashed the PT preferences. I am confident that I have the Midi routing/tracks set up properly in PT (especially since it was working before.)

Am I missing something simple or is it possible that Midi on my Digi001 has actually failed. Thanks for any help.

Update: I pulled all of the components involved, including the Digi001, and hooked them up to another Mac running PT 6.0. Everything works just fine on this Mac. So, I uninstalled 6.1/6.0 on my mac (via the uninstaller patch..lesson learned there) and re-installed 6.0. Still no joy. Any suggestions? Some extension gone missing in OSX perhaps? I'm stumped.
