Default bounce to disk..low volume

I'm trying to bounce a drum track I created from a Boss Dr3 machine to an aiff file (stereo,16bit,441) on my desktop. The problem is when I play the file in itunes, the volume is extremely low. When i playback in protools, the meter average is about three quarters to the kick beats and almost max on snare, so I don't feel I recorded it too low. I can't go much higher anyway..it brings out a sort of electronic sound...which was actually pretty cool, but not what I'm looking for. So am I missing something obvious???

Bring up the volume on the individual track first. If you need more gain you can create a master fader and bring its volume up.

thanks...I tried bringing the track meter up and it was still low. The master already was maxed out. I'm going to try to record it louder and see. Stupid question, but when you bounce it, does it send with the volume you recorded at or the volumes currently on the mixing board? I would assume what you recorded at.

No. A bounce will record exactly what you mix so if you increase the 2-buss with a master fader, the increased volume will be there on the bounce.

just a follow up. the problem seemed to be with the itunes. the track played at a normal level on the quicktime. still seems a little low, but aye, fOget about it, it's listenable. I'll worry bout that stuff later.
