Default Have to reinstall PT HD Driver every time i unplug Mbox

Everytime i unplug my Mbox 3rd generation from the USB on my macbook pro when i plug it back in the power light on the mbox flashes blue and it won't work with pro tools, i found that reinstalling the Pro Tools HD Driver fixes it but its annoying having to install it everytime i have to unplug my mbox, also i have tried the safe eject USB thing and it still does it.

Help Us Help You.

Some info would be as they say...useful.

AFAIK you shouldn't be installing the HD driver. You should be installing the correct driver for your hardware. I would start with the Driver Updates heading at the top of this page.

There is also an Mbox driver(but maybe you got that already). I believe the HD driver belongs in there as its on my system(with 003) and works fine). 2 things come to mind on this; Are you always using the same USB port(when you find one that works, use it every time), and are you connecting the Mbox with the computer already ON?(if so, shut down>connect the Mbox>restart).

Exactly.
Windows can be finicky with USB ports & changing what's plugged into them.

That would do it. FWIW I've plugged and unplugged My MBox2 into every port on a computer before. Once the computer has run the new hardware wizard for that articular piece of hardware on each port it tends to remember it and not require running the installer at a later date.
