Default Legacy 888 and ADC

I am trying out using an 888/24 on the legacy port of a 192. I set up an insert using the i/o of the 888 and delay compensation is showing only 6 samples of delay for the insert. This is obviously not right.

Does ADC work with legacy i/o?

Thanks,

Nic

Anyone have success using delay compensation on inserts with legacy interfaces?

I've never found any problems with using legacy interfaces with HD interfaces. And why is 6 samples for an insert wrong? It's TDM, not native.

Sorry, I should have specified that it's a hardware insert with da/ad through the 888/24.

I want to use this hardware insert on an aux doing parallel processing on vocals etc. So the delay compensation must be accurate.

Basically, is automatic delay compensation supposed to work with hardware inserts using legacy interfaces? And if so, what am I doing wrong?

have you tried a test recording through the 888 (output to input no other gear)
and see what the real delay is so you can set it correctly

I guess that is what I'm going to have to do (set it manually). Drag, I was really hoping the automatic delay compensation would work with the Legacy 888 hardware insert scenario.

Once I calculate the latency at a given sample rate should that be constant, or might it change with differ buffer sizes etc.?
