Re: How many of you will keep your HD plans current?
Our HD plan expires in Dec...
System's been stable since move to 11 (from 8) & thru 12.5.1 currently. A little frustrated with peripherals experience lately, but will likely re-up at the end of the year.

Re: How many of you will keep your HD plans current?
I sold all my Avid hardware sometime back and let my plan lapse so I'm on 10/11.
I'm possibly looking to buy a new iMac soon and will be stuck with ElCapitan so instead of paying the $1000 reinstatement fee for HD I just bought Vanilla yesterday. With the updates that have been made I don't think I need HD anymore. I might put it up on eBay to see what it brings...

Re: How many of you will keep your HD plans current?
My plan is to "leave the building" after many years with PT (since the mid 90s). But will have to see what Avid does with bugs (esp. -9173) and instability then make my decision at the end of my subscription. Right now it's too unstable and too expensive. HD is not that special anymore compared to other DAWs and Vanilla...

Re: How many of you will keep your HD plans current?
Thanks for all the replies. I have made the decision to let my plan lapse and run 12.4 as long as I can. I just can't stand that Avid would require an active subscription for bug fixes on the same version I purchased a perpetual license for. It seems if a person buys 12, they should get bug fixes for all versions of 12. Additionally, HD didn't receive any new "HD features" during the length of my support plan and even lost much of it's value relative to the standard version.
I will consider becoming a subscriber again when: 1. Avid releases some compelling HD features that justify the price I paid, and 2. Avid removes (at least temporarily) the silly penalty fee for letting one's plan expire.

Re: How many of you will keep your HD plans current?
The boxed version of upgrade plan arrived this morning and as I was afraid, the customs service decided that Avid Support and Upgrade Plan is worth another 120 euros of custom fees and whatnot.
The score is 472 Euros in total, two weeks waiting with all my Thomann voucher points I got from reviewing the purchased products spent. What looked like best deal up to this point turned to be the worst. Now its obvious that we only can get best deal at Avid online shop... I'm fed up with these manipulative strategies. It is one thing to pay for major release update every few years but totally unjustified i.m.o. to pay so much for minor bug fixes if you're supposedly an owner of a permanent license. I'm returning this (in reality empty) box worth 472 euros back to Thomann and staying at Pro Tools 12.5.1 HD as long as I can.

Re: How many of you will keep your HD plans current?
My plan lapsed yesterday. Didn't even think twice about continuing to pay for what Avid is offering.

But did you not think twice and renew? Or not think twice and not renew?

Re: How many of you will keep your HD plans current?
i guess I would not renew. And I get pretty wild about Avid's many problems, and how they mistreat customers. Is that close enough?

Re: How many of you will keep your HD plans current?
Pretty much. Except for the going wild part. I once was angry, but furor made way for acceptance. It is how it is, right? Time will clean up this mess one way or another.
