Are these the right HDX power leads for PC?
Hi all, hoping someone could confirm my choices before I order.
I recently bought an HDX card in a sonnet chassis, but I want to test it in my Hackintosh next (basically a P.C) & I don’t have any of the additional power connectors that would have shipped with the HDX card new. My power supply looks like this. https://images.evga.com/products/gal...00-XR_XL_5.jpg As I understand I need a lead like this to go in the PERIF1 or PERIF2 port https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116177763921 Then a second lead to connect that to the HDX card https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134233557931 Is this right? Is there a neater solution? (i.e one lead) Cheers

Re: Are these the right HDX power leads for PC?
I’ve been down this road before. I would search for a cable kit that matches the model and brand of PSU you have. Unfortunately there is no guarantee that the connectors or pin configurations on the PSU themselves are standardised. They can be brand specific. Usually all the cables you need are included with the PSU. You might find details in the PSU manual.
It’s only at the other end of the cable where things become uniform (4 pin molex, 6-pin PCIe, 8-pin PCIe, etc). The bit that plugs into a range of third party peripherals.

No, 99% sure this is a Mac only lead. The end of that cable that plugs *into* the power supply is a tiny connector, designed for 2019 Mac pros (& maybe 2010 models) which have a much smaller internal power lead port. You don't list your system specs in your signature. Have you used this lead yourself with HDX on a PC build & it fits?..or are you guessing? Thanks

The picture shows both ends of the cable. The end connecting to power supply looks like 6-pin connector.

Not all 6-pin connectors equal PCIe auxiliary power. The combination of square and chamfered pegs on the connectors aren't ever guaranteed to be the same.
