mp3 option.. help
Is there a way to make an mp3 smaller (file size) without lowering the Sample Rate below "44100" or the bit depth below 16 bit? I heard about layer 2 and layer 1 mp3's , but am not sure exactly what they are or how to create them??

The PT mp3 option allows you to select from a range of quality which will effect the size.

And unless I'm reading you wrong, the answer to the "layer 1/layer 2" mystery is this: MPEG files come in several flavors: layer 1, 2, 3, 4 and (soon)5. mp3 is shorthand for "MPEG layer 3." mp2 is the video format used for DVD. mp1 is an even older compressed video format.
