Btw, did you try to go to ilok.com with Internet Explorer or Firefox? It didn't play well with Firefox when I did my upgrade. I got a message saying I must enable JAVA, which I thought I had.
Immediately after the issue, I tried with Explorer and it worked as far as logging in to the iLok website. The iLok is succesfully synchronizing with my iLok.com account and it contains 7 valid licenses. I had already updated the iLok driver earlier today. Still no go.

iLok tech support (I emailed them after all my efforts failed) is basically saying to contact the software companies, after confirming that my iLok is syncing and that my licenses are valid, etc.

I originally suspected that it was ProTools 8.0 related issue... everything was fine until my upgrade to 8.0.

Oh...and as far as the LED lighting up...yes it has always lighted up. That, of course, would be the first thing I would check.

You might try uninstalling both the PACE and iLok software then restart and reinstall.

Ok...I'll try that.
There are three installs as follows:
iLok Client Helper x32x64
InterLok Driver Kit
Interlok driver setup x32

I guess I'll uninstall all three? (not sure what "client helper" is, fwiw.)

The client helper is the one that connects to the iLok website.

Hi Adam, I had trouble accessing my ilok account getting the 'java script not enabled' message. I found an address [URL="http://www.ilok.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/iLokManager.woa/3/wa/DownloadApps"] that sorted it out. My problem was keeping the ilok away from the net as my recording computer isnt connected and the ilok needed updating.

iLok drivers work strange for me. Have to install them, then plug the dongle in... it then it does the New Hardware thing, asks for the driver, let it run a search, and then it finds the driver (basically from where the installer placed it), and then it's 100% good to go.

So basically the installer just places the driver on the system, and then the New Hardware box actually does the "installing". It's odd, but never been problematic with my iLok or functionality of it.

Back to this...

I don't believe the issue is or ever was an iLok issue. All the plugins except the DVToolkit2 are working.

I believe the issue might be that the DVToolkit2.dll is located on my boot drive c:\ProgramFiles\Digidesign\ProTools -- where it is left from the install previous to PT8.0

I installed PT8.0 on our "F" Drive -- F:\Program Files\Digidesign\Digidesign\Pro Tools -- where all the *.dll files now live.

I'm wondering if I can just copy the DVToolkit2.dll to this directory and relaunch... ???

Ok... DVToolkit2 is basically up and running... although the MP3 filter is not... failure to find MP3.dll...which apparently isn't on my system (I did a search).

Is there a way to download files that are licensed via iLOK? (it could take a while to find the original cd's for DV Toolkit, which came with Avid Studio Toolkit, etc., so it would be much easier if they can just be downloaded, fwiw).

Pro Tools the program, as well as any plug-ins and options, should all be installed to your Operating System (C:) drive. No other location is recommended or supported by Digidesign.

Yeah, I know... but that isn't the problem now... the problem is, apparently that the mp3.dll file isn't on any of my drives...

I'll most likely do a new, fresh install after I can find room on my C: drive.

I'm aware of "recommendations" but I also am quite aware that many high-end programs I am running (and/or have run in the past) work just as well on other drives, regardless of whether the configuration is "officially supported" or not...
