Mac don't see the Carbon, in network the sonnet is there but no Carbon. Changed cable, restarted dozens of time, nothing.. Carbon still show up on my intel iMac as usual. Anybody have an idea . Thanks

Indeed, I haven't tried an M4 machine yet with Carbon.... However, does the Carbon device show up in the Show Network Device Browser of Audio MIDI Setup? Is the Carbon device showing LED activity on the network port and in the System Settings > Network?

best,

Jeff

No Carbon doesn’t show up in network and audio midi setup and no led activity on Carbon as well. Very strange as I know some people run Carbon on those new M 4 Mac

Yes as I said first I know it’s not supported but as some users run Ptools Carbon on M 4 , was just seeking for advice.

Copy. Just to verify, if you plug any other network device into the Sonnet you get network connectivity in System Settings, yes?

Thanks for responding.Yes the Sonnet works OK with other devices. I don't get the led net on the Carbon so it really looks like it's not connected at all. That's weird, even if there are compatibility problems, it should see it in Network....and again Carbon still show up on my intel iMac (running Monterey)

Humm yes weird ? have tried the second AVB ethernet port on the Carbon
Yes should show in up Audio Midi SET Up as well.
Does it show in Mac System Settings >Sound ?

Also Have you tried powering the entire system and computer off... Then powering on Carbon, then power on Mac, then toggle mac Wifi on and off then Launch PT (That is currently the only way I get Carbon to show in Playback Engine on OS 15.2 and PT 2024.10.2 on my studio system

Thanks for responding.Yes I tried to power on Carbon first, second, Wifi on/off etc Anyway it's not about seing Carbon in AudioMidi or Protools as to begin with Carbon is not seen in Mac system Ethernet devices and of course the Net led don't light on Carbon, so it's really Mac don't see Carbon at all.Checked cable, reset Carbon firmware...no luck. I think it's a Sequoia problem with the Sonnet adapter which is plugged directly in Mac or maybe a M4 compatibility thing.I did a command terminal Sonnet gave me and now I can see Carbon in the ATDECC window but the address appears greyed....will let you know..thanks

Is the light flashing on the Ethernet port of the carbon (IIRC there's a green and a yellow for each port, on the back)? If not, cable or adapter problem.

Do you have another adapter to try (Apple double-dongle arrangement)?

The cable is still the most likely failure point.
