Default Sonoma and Ethernet/ v Control and Control 24

Can anyone please help me with the problem I have with V control/ Ethernet being recognised by Mac Sonama

I just bought a studio M2 and the Ethernet won’t see the control 24.
I had I working well with windows but I’ve come back to Mac for a few reasons not to go into.

Protools can see the v control software , it’s just the Ethernet tab in v control setup won’t see the Control 24.

The network settings won’t see an Ethernet port connected either, I can create on but it stays non active.

I’m out of ideas, any help greatly appreciated.

Could it be 10gb speed?
Apple thunderbolt to 1gb adaptor maybe?

Just passing thoughts.

Thanks all

Apple checked this machine, no issues.

I bought a USB to Ethernet, solved.

Not sure why but at least it’s working.

🙂

This is not a surprise, and something discussed on DUC in the past.

As suggested by DetroitT above, the 10 Gbit Ethernet in the Mac is not backwards compatible with the ancient steam powered Ethernet (10Base-T aka 10 Mbit) in the Control 24. Just because devices have RJ45 connectors does not mean they are compatible.

Hello I have got the same problem. Can I ask if you managed to solve with a USB 3 t Ethernet or form USBC to Ethernet? Thanks

Any Mac compatible USB-C to Ethernet should do it.

I've got a Mac studio with Sonoma, the Digidesign control 24 is plugged via ethernet port but most of the times is offline
