Hi,

If you check the Pro Tools 8.1 installer folder, it contains the HEAT installer which is in Additional Files/Toolkit and Options Installers.

Please provide a link for the Pro Tools HD 8.1 Full Installer (Windows XP)
The attached image of PT HD8 Downloads shows that PTHD8.1 was not included:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MFi...yAR88D57i/view
I recently opened Case Number 04953924 (for the PTHD8.1 Installer/s) with Jovenal Valencia from Avid Global Customer Care

BIG thanks for chiming in - it's much appreciated!

May I also ask about:

DOWNLOADS missing from Avid’s Plug-In pages

Thanks for letting us know.
Marianna
Any news on the return of all the DOWNLOAD links on all the individual Plug-In pages, which included RTAS, TDM, AU and AAX?

Not on Windows, see attachment. The .dmg for macOS contains everything while the .zip for Windows only contains the updater.

Thanks for posting your screenshot.
Please post another, showing what’s inside the ‘Pro Tools HD Installer’ Folder, shown in your Mac (70873.dmg) above – I’m hoping it shows Pro Tools HD 8.1 Full Installer, which must be installed first, before installing the Pro Tools HD 8.1.1 Updater

Much appreciated!

Nope, it's just the updater. The full PT8 installer is three times the size of those 8.1.1 update packages. Also PT 8.1.1 can be installed on top of 8.0.3 and does not require 8.0.5 or 8.1 to be installed first.

In other news: Marianna & Grace were able to sort my HEAT activation issues out. It seems that PACE had to do some magic behind the scenes.

That being said: we still don't have access to HEAT tdm installers for Windows and I suspect the manual PACE intervention might be necessary for each user that wants to use a current HEAT license with a TDM rig. While this might be an edge case the official HEAT product page still lists "Pro Tools | HD Accel (TDM)" and I think this is important for backwards compatibility of an industry standard.

Thanks for the info and update GreyboxAudio. Let me check on this further and get back to this thread if I find anything on this.

Thanks for showing HEAT was not included in the PT 8.1.1 Updater

HEAT was first introduced with the PT HD 8.1 Full Installer:
https://avidtech.my.salesforce-sites...eadme/en207687
08/17/2010 8.1 (adds support for HD Series interfaces and HEAT)

Finding PT HD 8.1 is why I started Case 04953924 with Jovenal Valencia from Avid Global Customer Care, as it was not listed on Avid’s PT 8 HD Downloads page:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MFi...yAR88D57i/view

Avid states PT HD 8.1 must be installed first, before installing the PT HD 8.1.1 Updater, according to (scroll down to PT8) here:

https://kb.avid.com/pkb/articles/en_...ledge/en355241
Pro Tools HD 8.1.x
Please Note: The Pro Tools HD 8.1 and 8.1.1 release is for Pro Tools|HD systems only.

Previous installation of Pro Tools HD 8.0 or Pro Tools HD 8.1 for Mac OS X & Windows is required to enable HEAT

No it doesn't? Avid states that you need PT 8.0.x or 8.1 to upgrade to 8.1.1. just like you wrote yourself. Matter of fact I installed 8.0.3 and then updated to 8.1.1 just fine. This should be sufficient on OSX, since the 8.1.1 updater includes HEAT as well. On Windows neither 8.1 nor 8.1.1 include the HEAT installer and I had to manually install HEAT from a Pro Tools 9 ISO. You can probably even install HEAT from the 10.3.10 Download, but I haven't tested that yet https://avidtech.my.salesforce-sites...3-10-Downloads

Happy to hear you got it sorted - and thanks for explaining!

Avid Global Customer Care wrote:

In theory, the version of HEAT in this Pro Tools 9 ISO disk image installer may still work with Pro Tools HD 8.

Pro Tools 9 Installer (Win):

If anyone has the Pro Tools HD 8.1 Full Installer (Windows XP) - please send me a PM - much appreciated!
