macOS 15.2 breaks bootable clones?
It is sounding like Apple borked the ability to clone macOS boot drives in macOS 15.2 At least for users of SuperDuper:
Here is a blog post from the developer of SuperDuper: https://www.shirtpocket.com/blog/ind...re_a_mean_one/ And a Hacker News thread: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42413757 I'm not aware of Carbon Copy Cloner folks talking about problems yet. Both SuperDuper and Carbon Copy Cloner rely on the macOS ASR utility to actually clone the boot drive. I've not tested for this problem myself yet with Carbon Copy Cloner (I don't use SuperDuper). For what it is worth, my bread and butter company IT department has blocked this one from automatic updates. It is simply not available for the managed work laptop.
