Default Transfuser audio Drag & Drop in Windows 7 pro?

Hey All,
Just getting into using Transfuser... lovin' it so far...

However, I watched Russ's video showing drag & drop of PT audio into the Tranny "drop track audio here" section... but no love on our system...

When I take a 2 bar drum groove from a stereo audio ch. & try to drag/drop into Tranny on its own Instrument track (stereo), I get nothing. No import dialogue, as Russ shows in the vid... nada... it just physically moves the audio in the PT edit window???

Tranny 2.0, Windows 7pro, PT 11.1.3 (both HDX & non-), rest of specs in handle...

Much appreciate any help... it must be something pretty simple. Thanks!

I believe that video is pre 11. 11 changed some things and D&D is at least broken if not dead.

When you launch Pro Tools, do your Right Click and run as administrator or have it set to run as admin?

Is user account control ON or OFF

Hey Brian...
Yeah, it's running as an admin...
UAC is off.

Thanks!

So... is there a workaround for importing audio into Transfuser?
It's not allowing me to d&d anything into the Slicer Synth module either?
(contrary to the manual) and I don't see any "import" command path in any of the drop-downs...

I still love it for building grooves/beats, but obviously, it was designed to allow user-audio to be incorporated into that process...

OK... think I've got this solved.

If anyone else runs into this issue, hopefully the following solution will help:
1) In PT create your audio loop. 1/2/4 bars.
2) Select that loop n the Mix window, go to your Clips bin, Right click on the selected loop & "export Clip as files".
3) In the Export window, choose your settings, then for "Destination Directory" choose the "Bounced Files" folder in the PT session that you are using Transfuser in. (I'm assuming that dropping this in your "audio files" folder would work as well?)
4) Then open Transfuser & use the Audio tab to browse to your "Bounced Files" folder. This WILL allow you to Drag & Drop it into the "Tracks Pane".
5) The prompt screen for how you want to use the file (in my case, as a Slicer) will then be called up. Once you choose the method, Voila' ! your track is there to use.

Rather cumbersome, but it works... would love to hear a simpler method...

Actually, there isn't a simpler method. Yes, we all loved the D&D capability in the past. But, with PT-11 and the new AAX format, that has permanently gone away. Russ K explained all this in some video or article on his blog site some time back. Basically, the D&D function available with the RTAS format worked because the VI programs took advantage of some holes in the RTAS programming. With AAX, those holes no longer exist, so drag and drop from PT to a 3rd party VI or plugin is no longer an option.

So, yes, the process you mentioned above is what you have to do. Export the clip to a file, then import it to the VI you want to use it in. What I've started doing is exporting clips to a special file and just building up my own little library of loops and beats. It only takes a few seconds to do it.

If you keep them all in the same file, they should be easy to find each time, too.

I haven't tried drag and drop with Transfuser in PT yet, but (at least for me on Windows 8) if you launch PT with Run As Admin, you can't drag in audio from the desktop or other place. If you launch normally, then drag and drop works. Of course without Run As Admin you may have other problems.

Again I haven't tried this with Transfuser, but for dragging in audio to Pro Tools, that's what works for me.

Yes, the RTAS versions of PT will allow D&D. But that's all gone away with AAX.
