Default Pro Tools disconnects my Focusrite interface

I have a Focusrite Scarlett 18I20 interface. It works fine with Cubase 7. When I open Pro tools 10 or 11,the interface is disconnected. I have to shut it down for 10 seconds then power up to connect again.

Focusrite support has been great so far with new emails every day,but they have not been able to figure it out.

Any ideas? Could it have something to do with the Ilok? I have Windows 7 .

Nothing related to the iLok, it doesn't make sense at all.

What can be is the ASIO driver. If your interface is being used by Windows as an audio output device, when opening Pro Tools, this baby wants to use your interface and maybe it starts fighting with Windows and your Interface give up.

Check that and use the latest ASIO driver from Focusrite for your interface.

Saludos!

Thanks. I tried disabling the focusrite from windows and it still does the same thing. Cubase works perfectly so it has to be related to pro tools.

I would check the DPC latency and see if it is spiking when PT starts.
This can cause the interface to lose communication and disconnect.
There is a DPC latency checker on the net.
