bounce to disk is not working

I am running a mac powerbook g4 with a gig of sdram-mac0sx-an mbox2-pro tools 7.3.1- a tc electronic powercore compact which adds about a gig of processing power for plug ins-vst to rtas wrapper- external firewire drive.
when i bounce to disk and convert after bounce with 24 bit resolution and stereo interleved, I send the file or files to my desktop. lately when i do this, at the end of the bounce, I get an error message from pro tools that goes like this here....

Could Not Complete The Bounce To Disk Command Because Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/vb_cliff/Altura Ports/New File libs/File Format/Mac Build/../../FF/Audio/FF_Audio Property.cpp",line33

...and the bounced file goes by by.

When I bounce to disk and convert during bounce under the same exact specs, the bounced file just disappears completely. This is becoming a problem for me. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Read the "General Troubleshooting" thread section about deleting database and volume files.

I have the same problem, but sometimes I get the error and sometimes I don't. Deleting database and volume files doesn't seem to have an effect. Anyone have any ideas?
