002 rack not working

can anyone help me?my digi 002 rack isnt been reconized by my mac or my pc,i thot i mite be the frie wire cable but got a new one and still not working,does it matter what port you put it in the back of the rack???

Is it clicking when you power it up? If so, it's the power harness.

yeah its clicking,its weird when you put the cable in one of the ports in the back of the rack the light comes on but not in the other???and when i try launch pro tools it says and find harware!!!do i have to send it back to get fixed??

You can take to your Digi dealer or Digi will send you a new power harness with instructions on how to fix it yourself. Do a search on "Power Harness" and you'll get up to speed on the problem and how you want to address it.

If only one of your inputs lights up when you attach the cable, you may have a different problem. The light should come on at least temporariily on either imput even if you have the power harness issue.

does anyone know what that problem will be,digi sent me a new power harness cable today i fitted it and still nothing???if i plug the firwire cable in to the left hand one (say you facing 002r leaning over to look at back) no light comes on but if you put it in the right hand side the light comes on and if you take the cable out it stays on???help

I'm having a similar problem in which PT is not recognizing the hardware. I do have power and no other application is hogging the DAE. Any ideas?

djscott - it sounds as if you possibly have a burned out firewire port. Please contact Digi Tech Support for service on this.

Liebgott - You should also contact Digi TS via phone to have them troubleshoot your system.

Thanks for the recomendation. It seems allright for now. Turns out about once a month I have to pull the ac cord out of the 002 rack and then plug her back in. seems to fix the problem for now. Seems a little stupid, probally be a bigger problem down the road.
