Steve Jobs did a round up of softwares after presentations - when he got to Digidesign, he actually showed a screen of Logic. In fact he said ' and we have the new audio software from Digidesign, or in this case Logic'

He sounded like a politician revealing his ignorance on such matters at that point.

I do think Dave Lebolt could have done a more impressive demo - granted it needed to entertain the non audio people, but it did seem kinda pedestrian. More whooshes, splats and crashes would in the sound file choices would have had more 'wow' factor for the ignorant!! C'mon Dave - you only get one go at it.

BTW - congrats to Digi for getting the showing tho ...

I was hoping there would be a speed bump in the G4's - apple is not getting the raw number love stck at 1.25 compared to Intels 3GHZ + and accelerating.

The fact that Jobs had Dave LeBolt come out and announce PT's 6 for OSX in the middle of his keynote speech at MacWorld was a huge statement!! That should put to rest all the rumours that Apple will not support Digi and that they only care about Logic and Emagic. This should also be a big relief to us folks that have made a large investment in Digi and were starting to get scared *****less that Logic was going to take over.

I find it funny that there are judgements being made on Dave's presentation. Who gives a ***** if he cut drums or flanged the track not to your liking. His presence on the stage was a token appearance. It's just the fact that Jobs had him up on that stage during that speech. If you all didn't notice, there was no one from Logic or DP or any other company that uses Mac as there platform for their DAW that Jobs brought out to share the stage with him..only Digi...it's DAW politics. Be thankful if you use Digi on the Mac platform that your investment is safe for a while. (I'm sure the Avid/Digi stockholders will
be happy to hear that as well). Nice work Dave!!

PS I'm I starting to sound like a digital conservative?

Well, I'm reading this on Safari now. Talk about an elegant browser, and the installation and importing of bookmarks is a complete no brainer. This is REALLY cool.

Nice to see Dave Lebolt on the QT webcast. He's not as smooth as SJ, but he's not charmless, either.

BTW, if anyone caught the webcast or was there, what was that gorgeous looking sequencer that we caught a quick glimpse of in the BT segment? Could that be the new version of Logic?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">But did you notice that right after Dave left the stage, Steve immediately launched in touting the Mac's video capabilities? With Digidesign being owned by Avid, it might have been nice to have moved to a different topic first before tackling video.

It's also funny that they came out with the Final Cut Express, to compete directly with, you guessed it, Avid Express DV.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">You can see the video here:

Definitely looks Logic-like. Also, I noticed that the footage of BT looking at the sequencer was shot at a different time than the interview with him. ( Different hair and clothes.) Not that it means anything, but it's interesting that Apple put the new sequencer in all of the screen shots, and specifially went back to reshoot footage of BT with new sequencer.
