Default Help updating Pro Tools

Hi,
I want to update my Pro Tools, but I have a some questions.

I have PT 2020.12 , with Windows 10 Pro (2004).
And I want to update to the most recent biuld (2021.10)

I want to install it in the most safe/correct way.

1- What should I do first?
Update my Windows to 21H1 or update Pro Tools

2- Do I have to completely uninstall pro tools, in order to be able to install the new version?

3- What happen to my plugins (Waves, Izotope, etc), they stay intact, right?

4- I use PT with video, should I unistall the Quicktime Essentials too or it stays intact?

5- What about Avid Video Engine, I currently do not have it installed (or I think so, beacuse it doesn't appear in my Programs and Features)
But I'm consfused about this, because I work with video every day. (I do have Quicktime Essentials)
Do I need to install it?

Thank you and I look forward to your response.

On Windows, you will need to uninstall any previous version of Pro Tools. I would uninstall Pro Tools(and the HD driver if that option is presented). Then update Windows. Once that is done and restarted, run the installer for the newer Pro Tools. No need to be concerned about plugins as they should be untouched(along with all of your sessions). Also no need to touch Quicktime.

Re uninstalling, with Windows, many users get tripped up when they try to uninstall Pro Tools because they try it from the wrong place. When you right-click on Start and select Apps and Features, this is NOT the right place(yet). On that window, look near the upper right for Programs and Features. That link brings up another window. Once it populates(which takes several seconds), scroll down to Avid Pro Tools>right-click>select Change and follow prompts. In the next window, if you have a checkbox to also uninstall the HD driver(no matter what hardware you have), DO select that option. Its up to you as to the last option of also removing prefs, database files, etc(its not a bad idea, but you will need to reset prefs, midi setup, color settings, etc as you would after trashing prefs)

For the ultimate in covering your ASSets, image or clone your system drive before doing anything. That gives you a backup plan(which you may never need, but will never regret having)

Thank you so much for your reply.

I'm attaching a screenshot of the correct uninstall window (just to clarify)

Yes, I'm going to delete my prefs, it's good to restart them. (I think so)

Also, do you something about my fifth point:
The Avid Video Engine
As I said, I think I don't have it installed, it doesn't appear in my Programs and Features. I do have enabled the Video Engine in my PT preferences, as well as Quicktime too.
Does the Avid Video Engine improve the video playback?

Thank you.
