so you think mocking something is equivalent to "hate"?
that suggests you've already purchased one of these notched MacBook pros, and are simply trying to silence critics who bring up valid points about a certain design stupidity/failure in order to feel better about your purchase - by accusing them of "hate speech". a very modern tactic, or a very old one.

mocking a stupid design element is simply bringing attention about an absurd design to other potential customers. many companies, not just Apple, introduce absurd design elements, and criticizing those things is not "hate".
criticizing Avid for designing mushroom knobs on the Icon control surface was not "hate". funny how those stupid knobs were gone in the next generation, and people flooded the used-market with their Icons in order to get the new one that didn't have ridiculous knobs.
criticizing Avid for placing Select and Record Arm buttons between faders is not "hate".

mocking Apple for a stupid design element simply brings that idiotic design flaw to the attention of people who might waste their money on it, when it'll be gone in the next generation. pointing out that the cursor disappears under the notch (I'm not joking) is simply mocking the design flaw that Apple have convinced users is "good design". It's simply not. Steve Jobs would have Sh**-canned the very concept in 10 seconds flat. if you like it, and want to buy it, go right ahead. I'm not accusing you of "love" speech.

mocking a product is not mocking you, nor is it spouting "hate".
otherwise it would be censored and this entire DUC forum would be empty space.

"hate" is probably equivalent to how fixated people get on certain, insignificant, and innocuous things in life. I know I had a reaction to the notch when I first saw it on a new iPhone, but now when I see an old iPhone with the bezel it makes me feel icky inside.

A healthy bit of devils advocate keeps up all grounded. Others... well... they are just plain negative regardless of what happens.

LOL. True, but you should try wading thru the GearPage's "Plugin Alliance" thread ! Makes this look like a walk in the park.

Indeed. So...

How's everyone getting on with 2021.10 after a few days? My installation was rocky (the first time through it failed to recognize my hardware but a 2nd installation fixed it, for whatever reason), but it's been solid since then. There were a few remaining, random black boxes in the timeline bar with 2021.7 but I haven't seen them in .10. I don't know that it's snappier or smoother, but it's not any slower either. I'm keeping the 2021.7 installer nearby but don't expect to need it.

My installation went smooth and as expected, because I have the Carbon, it also automatically included the Carbon firmware update ( I assume to facilitate the new Carbon pre control from the GUI) which is very cool . I have not yet tried in my iPad (Avid Control app) but I assume I will first down load the new Eucon version for that to work .

And other than the Dynamic Plugin Processing only 1/2 fixed ( as per the other thread) it appears to be working as advertised . The additional color adjustments are a nice touch also

EDIT - probably also worth stating the obvious that the biggest market for MBP is photo and video, and SD for camera users is an essential.
Like I said every Photo pro I know shoots either tethered or uses Compact Flash cards.
And just out of curiosity, how do you connect your ilok to a MBP without a dongle when you travel!? If traveling with a single USB-C dongle that connects to HDMI,USB3,Ethernet and has a SD reader is too much for you to carry, I wouldn't know what to tell you

Great for me on 10.14.6. Best release in a long time.

A few days and a mix project in and things seem to be working OK so far. I did notice a bit of low-level random noise 3 seconds in on what should be silence on a fast bounce. I haven't checked to see if it's something in that particular session. or something else. No crashes or anything out of the ordinary tho.

What a revelation.
That's the important part. And the separate power connector. It was terrible design to combine power and display and data into two ports. Fine for an "Air" but not a Pro. The only miss is no Ethernet, specifically 10GB.
