Can't access Playback Engine

Hi, I can't access Playback engine dialogue box in 2022.10 on Catalina. The current PB engine might be incorrect and I get an error if I try to change it. The dialogue box doesn't come up, just the error. Even holding N during startup yields the same error.

Error is:
Could not complete your request because Assertion in "/Users/autobld/gitlabci/PT/release/2022/r3/ProTools/DFW/Views/UMenu.MacOS.mm", line 2122.

I have tried to search for all and part of this error message to no avail.

In recording, I see signal in the channel and it is recording but nothing is getting laid down.

Any thoughts? Maybe it's something stupid that I'm not seeing?

Ok, trashed preferences and now I can get PE dialogue box but it doesn't see my Apogee Duet.

Fixed...trashed preferences and reinstalled apogee. Back to normal.
