Syncing a PC as a separate VST host
Using a Digi002, I'm currently running PT LE 7.4 on a Mac PPC G5 dual 2.0Ghz, 3GB RAM
I'm told this Mac should be enough to run Kontakt 3, and PT LE. I have a PC (P4 2.4Ghz) which could feasibly run Kontakt 3. Just wondering what you (and others) have found to be a stable, efficient way to sync the two computers... Thanks for any and all input |

Re: Syncing a PC as a separate VST host
You don't need to sync them, as Kontakt isn't a sequencer, it's just a sample player. Just treat it like it's a regular ol' MIDI box (get a good MIDI and Audio I/O for it) and set it up like it was a hardware sample box and pretend it's not a computer.
Now if you want to get fancy, you buy MIDI over LAN if both computer are on the same network and save yourself the trouble of the MIDI interfaces and cables. |
