Default Mac Mini Spec for FWx Recording

Hi,

What spec Mac Mini would you be looking at to record the full 32 Channels from a FWx card in to Pro Tools and then play them back for virtual sound check?

Also what external hard drives would you recommend to use.

Thanks!

I would look for a refurb i7 quad with both FW(newest models dropped it) and Thunderbolt. While the FW-TB adapter cable MAY work, some folks seem to be having issues(maybe its the cable, or maybe not). Any 7200 rpm Thunderbolt drive should do fine.

Thanks for the info guys.

How much RAM should I be looking for? Also is it worth considering a SSD for the system drive?

8GB of RAM minimum. SSD is always a nice thing. They really speed up boot time and everything else. And are theoretically more reliable.
