Default Recycle and ACID w/ Digi001 questions

Making a choice, Recycle or ACIDwith Digi001 for beat slicing? Input from those who use these programs is appreciated.

Recycle does all the slicing and BPM adjusting that I need for my beats sampled from vinyl. It's really what I want from what I've read on it, but it's not very ProTools freindly. Can Recycle monitor through the Digi001, or must it be routed some other way, like out of the Apple headphone jack and then to the Digi001 inputs? How do you set up and use Recycle in PTLE/Digi001?

A question on ACID, since my sister gave me ACID PRO 3.0 for my birthday and I'm not on a PC, maybe if ACID can slice beats like Recycle does then I'll just get Virtual PC to run it on my mac. Can ACID do to regular samples what Recycle does?

Thanks

In the RECYCLE Edit menu, click on Preferences. One of the choices in the Audio Card Driver menu should be SM Digidesign. Click on it and you're ready to rock! Unfortunately, since RECYCLE doesn't rely on MIDI, you will have to export your loops for import into PTle, making sure the tempo in your PTle session is set to match EXACTLY that of your RECYCLEd loop. Enjoy!

Add Reason's REX player to your ReCycle... (i.e. add Reason... it's only $270 which ain't much for what it does) and sync that to PTLE (there's a detailed thread on here about how to do it) and you'll enjoy the versatility of REX files without having to lock down to a tempo... i.e. the REX player can play your file, adjusting the tempo as you please.

peace,

t.

Super news! Okay I can get by with the importing of files, just so glad that the Digi001 will be able to play Recycle. Yay! Thanks

I've also heard that Recycle slices can be easily imported into Soft Samplecell - which, of course, works very well with Protools.

Try a search for "Recycle" and you'll find a couple of recent threads...
