dinosaur has upgrade questions
I've been happily using PTLE 5.1 on a 001 for several years; it's old reliable, even when I'm recording 16 tracks simultaneously. Still, I'm thinking about upgrading, but I'm a little worried that I'd be headed for trouble - the old "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" thing.
My main desire for the upgrade is to try some higher quality plugins. Right now I just use the Audiosuite stuff that came with my original 001/PT setup. I tried to install the Waves Gold 14-day trial, but Protools didn't seem to know Waves was even there. This may be due to my old software or it may be a whole different issue. I'm hoping someone can tell me. Anyway, given that I have a working 001 and don't want to shell out for a hardware upgrade, what's the upside of an PT upgrade? Is the latest PT still made to work with the 001? And does anybody know for sure whether is possible to run Waves Gold with my current setup? Thanks. George |

Re: dinosaur has upgrade questions
you should be able to run waves V4.
V5 will not run on your system. |
