Selection Tool: How to select parts in a track in an non-continuous way.

Hi,

Could be a beginner-like question, but it's, hmm.. not really? Actually never seen anybody I know doing this, nor stumbled across it on YouTube.

So I wonder. Is it even possible to select parts of what's on track with the Selection Tool, but in a snatchy/non-continuous way? Similar to "Grabber Tool (Object)" when you are able to select segments "chaotically".

Good question, which prompts another; why do you want to do it(maybe there's a better option?). In any case, you could move/copy each clip to another track and treat them as you like. If you did audiosuite processing, then you could move/copy them back where they started, but thats optional

Hehehe, that's VERY optional! :)

There are MANY things I would need this for.

For example:
to select different parts of a long, consolidated audio clip in a quick manner and cut, or separate them out all at once instead of selecting a part do something with it and then go on to next.

An other example (which made me write this thread as result of "material fatigue"):
while in Audio Volume mode select different parts of the track and turn up or down their volume all at once.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but couldn't you automate this wit the pencil tool?
