Hi,
Is there a way to actually talk to someone at Avid - re an expired pro tools license and various reinstatement options? All contact numbers are in an IVR loop of asking for something you don't have or is expired and then terminating the call. On which planet can you not talk to someone at avid about buying or upgrading pro tools? Their chatbot is poorly coded and doesn't interpret international numbers so I'm stuck on there as well. Do I need to buy a support code for 40USD in order to speak with someone? Borderline absurd.. I haven't had to reach out to Avid for many years. Wtf happened? I might as well just list the issue here as I'm sure you guys know the answers instead of just complaining and asking rhetorical questions. I had a yearly support plan which was $99USD with an educational discount. This was on auto renew at avid. The educational verification wasn't, so I had to re-verify every year. I let it slip last year and pro tools didn't auto renew as per no edu verification. I reverified many months later when I logged in to avid and saw that it was expired.. However, I seem to be off the yearly support plan now. I've read that I can purchase the reinstatement plan at a local reseller. The plan reads as "Avid Pro Tools (Reinstatement)" Is this the correct reinstatement plan to get me back onto my $99 support EDU plan or do I need some other reinstatement plan for the educational discount? Currenting I have the following options in my Avid account on the expired plan: $349.00 - Pro Tools Studio Annual Perpetual Upgrade & Support plan - GET CURRENT or $9.99 1-Year sub paid monthly on a 12 months plan - Edu pricing. Because I'm in Australia, the cost of the the reinstatement is $529AUD!! That's the current sale price of Cubase 12 Pro.. If only I didn't really really like using Pro tools. Thanks guys.
