Default Edit window jumping around

After a looonnng time stuck in the past with pro tools 5.3, I finally upgraded to pro tools 8. I have an HD1 system for what it's worth. Anyway, while editing a TV series that I work on, I'm noticing that the edit window frequently jumps around while I'm working. For example, I might be putting a fade on a region and the timeline will jump forward so that the section where my cursor was is now off screen. Very annoying and it is slowing me down. I've tried some various different settings in preferences but it's not helping. Anyone familiar with this and know how to stop it?

The jumping edit window (at least in 2020.3) can be fixed in
Preferences>Mixing>Controllers/ uncheck "Edit Window Follows Bank Selection" and (possibly) "Mix Window follows Bank Selection."

Thank you for answering this thread 9 years after the original posters question. May have been too late to save his sanity, but it certainly helped mine. I had been pulling my hair out trying to find the setting that was causing this ever since adding my S1's. This seems to have solved it. Thanks!

I just solved a similar issue on my Windows laptop: waveforms were jumping around the screen when I grabbed them to trim or move.

Right-Click on PT, under Properties\Compatibility\Change High DPI Settings, I unchecked 'Overide High DPI Scaling Behaviour' and now it behaves itself.

I had a temporary fix that involved changing the display scale to 100% under Windows display settings, but it did render everything a bit small to be practical.
