Well it is made by the same guys... so it does make sense.

Key Features

  • Easily add analog warmth and character to any Pro Tools|HD mix
  • No need to launch a plug-in—access HEAT right in your Pro Tools Mix window
  • Control HEAT across every channel of your mix, without having to manage multiple instances
  • Realistically re-create the sound of audio mixed through vintage analog gear
  • Designed in collaboration with Cranesong founder, Dave Hill

This is the Exact direction HD needed to go, it DRASTICALLY, IMHO changes the sound of the Mixer (In a fantastic way) - I don't think I'll be willing to mix without it in the future.

Congrats, this sounds really great... surprisingly, really great.

IMO == you cant compare it to Phoenix AT ALL....

I got Phoenix but I rarely use it... You have many other options in HEAT.
IMO - Heat is simply Fantassimo.

And reason NOT to buy......the difference is BIG......

Great. From now on every mix is going to sound heated. Signature sound of late 2010 / 2011.

OK but I've said it before and I still think its a bit early to drop Leopard considering how long Tiger and PPC hung about
