In the meantime, one of the things I feel this forum lacks is a 'How I use Artist to help me in my workflow' section. What macros have you programmed to do useful things? I personally 'get' the mixing side of Artist, or at least find it useful. What I really struggle with is 'editing' - that darn jogwheel just has me foxed!

Love that idea regarding a section dedicated to Artist Series where we can share macro and idéas and how we use our setups Great idea! And for the past "ranting" and stuff we need people with that kind of passion and after reading this post I have a new found respect for you and your thoughts about making things work better for all of us Big Up's to you and again I stand by your thoughts and ideas here.. Let's be a collective driving force and get this done!

Let's make this work for all of the users of the Artist series and try to get a separate section dedicated to this.

To be honest, even after my discussions with John I'm still not clear what all the problems are, but it's clear to me that EuCon and Artist need an amount of developer resource (which are finite) and so in essence have to 'compete' for resources against other Avid products.

Excuse me for stating the obvious. If the problem is lack of resources, hire more developers! You guys could have everything working PERFECTLY in a matter of months.

I'm not even talking about new features here. Can you imagine the positive word of mouth you would have if the software worked as seamlessly and elegantly as Apple's usually does? Artist Series "it just works.."

Of course I understand company politics all too well and the lack of desire for management to spend money hiring talent.. when they don't use the products themselves and don't understand that many things are broken, and how slow the progress is to fix. Maybe, somehow they can be convinced if it is explained to them what the investment would do for public perception of quality.?

Or more to the point, all resources were busy on an other bigger project, and with the recoding of PT before that, if they would have hired more people, they would probably have been assigned to the same project, as the goal was to have a demo ready for IBC and ready to be release before the end of the year.

Point is don't look so far in the future (S6) that you don't fully develop and optimize and pimp out your existing line !

From what some have gathered from the Pro tools expert and Tony's interview, the s6 might not have been the only thing in the work at the moment, probably a priority but not the only one. We'll have to see though, I too would like to see some bug squashed.

Yeah it definitely seems more to do with the faders that are on the surface instead of the ones in the Pro Tools, because this works if you bank to the end of your faders as well.

Sends adjustment very often freezes after pushing encoder to adjust sends pan, happens on both mix and control, have to restart eucontrol to get it back.
