Can someone explain what Aux I/O is?

So I'm guessing AR2 Melodyne support is still months away.

Is that something similar to an aggregate Device in OSX, but it maintains full support for HDX & HDN in Pro Tools?

Do you know if it supports multiple types of physical audio I/O, or is it limited to something like HDN/HDX plus the Dolby Audio Bridge?

From what I've seen with the new Melodyne update and all of the posts from Avid saying "ARA soon" it seems it'll be in the new 2022.9 release.

Yeah, I think I've been waiting at least a year (actually longer) to re-tool my workstation. In order have a stable system for the next several years with a new Mac, compatible (during those years) and appropriate Audio IO, and OS... it feels like watching a messed-up card game between Avid and Apple. Waiting for everyone to show their cards. In the meantime, my current system (stuck on Mojave and PCI-E card) is falling into the "unsupported" valley.

There's an Avid webinar scheduled for next Tuesday specifically for showing off and explaining AR2 integration with Pro Tools. It would be pretty embarrassing for them if they haven't actually released it by then.

It wouldn’t be the first time they have previewed stuff before rolling it out to customers.

Someone mentioned that Thursdays are usually the chosen day for releases, so perhaps we will see it in the next 24 hours or so.

I hope so. They need to and I am pretty sure it is happening at some point. Logic has had it for a while. Would make my life easier-:)

Marker Tracks is HUUUUGE!!!
Aux IO sounds like a big development for running things like Zoom and Source Connect sessions without needing Source Nexus.

Any info on whether the MTRX Studio TB3 option will be able to be added to existing units (I'm guessing not) or will only be on new units?
I hear from both camps in LA. Jsut finished a. series for 6 weeks there doing all of the audio post here and also some scoring. The head of the production company in Culver City told me that even though she uses Premiere all the time on a bunch of projects, she is wanting to get back on her Avid setup. I know some folks like Avid more for long form. Not really my area, but thought I would note this for people on the forum.

Yeah. Why don't you update to Monterey at least.> I went from from Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, and then straight to Monterey a few months ago. All went well for me. Not sure what you are on though...

All good! Exciting stuff coming for Atmos for me!! Jeff Komar at Avid, I have a feeling we may finally see an integrated Dolby Atmos Renderer. YAY. Maybe Native code. That's what I am waiting for.
