Default Ordering a new computer question?

I'm ordering a new laptop with windows 7/64 bit operating system. My friend says pro-tools LE is not compatible with 64 bit. I cant imaginge pro-tools not working with the new standard 64 bit operating systems. Will pro-tools work with windows 7? I'm using a digi-002.

thanks

Pro Tools 8.0.4 supports Windows 7 x64 though Pro Tools operates as a 32-bit application but Pro Tools can now use 4 GB RAM if your computer has six GB or more RAM. However, what's more important is that you have a compatible laptop for Pro Tools 8.0.4.

it looks pretty good from the supplied info. Has dedicated graphics, and a 7200 RPM hard drive and E-Sata port. So you would need another internal or external hard drive to Record to. E-Sata is the way to go for external.

If you can find the chipset and make sure its an Intel chipset, that would almost guarantee it will work with PT.

It's a Intel chipset. I guess my next question is; Will my plugins and virtual instruments work ok in a 64 bit environment through pro-tools?

Thanks again...

Most Plug-ins and VIs do. But there are thousands, and there are exceptions. Do you have specific plug-ins in mind?
