Default Access Violation - No Error Code

PT HD 7.4 cs4 on G4 DP 1.8 with 10.4.9

Basicly, I'd hit record - it'd record the take - but when I hit stop, the Active Record region (Pink Highlight) would stay, pink (Not render to a solid region.

Access Violation occurred would pop up on the screen, no "Error Number"

When I hit ok - the "Pink Active record region" would just disappear - no Audio left in the session or Audio Files folder.

I ran "Pro Tools Database and Preference Helper" app - to trash ALL Preferences, Database Folders, and Volume Files -

Re-Booted off another system Volume - repaired permissions on the Main System drive -

and it Still did it - saving to / recording to all directories / volumes.

I re-Installed cs4 - and it fixed it.

it's over - had to reset my i/o 192 info / setup, Ctrl 24 Ethernet Controller info, all my personal preferences / operation settings - but it's back.

Little scare there - just sharing in case anyone looks this up, by searching Access Violation, as when I did, I found no "Pro Tools HD 7.4 cs4 "Occurs when Recording" entries in the DUC, or the Answerbase -

SO.... if this is you, sweating at a session, Like I was today... re-install cs4 - and have a good session
