Default Error 6085

Hi I'm new to this site and new to the world of pro tools.
I'm studying sound engineering and music technology in college.
I purchased an mbox 2 mini before christmas and it was working fine, mixed loads of songs, 10-12 tracks with plugins and it was all working but now I press play or try to record and I keep getting the 6085 error.

I've included my SANDRA report below.

Please help.

Simon

Where is your separate 7200 rpm recording drive? Have you disabled wifi when running PT? Is there anything else that has changed like any new software, or new Windows updates(auto-update should be turned off). Do you surf the web with this laptop? Maybe you got a virus, trojan or other maleware?

Thats the thing with running un-approved systems. Sometimes they work for awhile then quit.

Your CPU is a Celeron, which I do not believe has ever been supported.

You have integrated graphics, also not supported.

Quote:
Pro Tools Windows Computers Require a Dedicated Graphics Controller.

Windows computers with integrated (i.e. northbridge-based) graphics controllers are not supported and may not perform well with Pro Tools. To achieve best results, the system must use a dedicated graphics controller.

For desktop computers this usually means a separate graphics card is installed. For laptop computers, this is usually an option offered at the time of purchase. Desktop computers that do not have a dedicated graphics controller installed will need to install either an AGP or PCIe based graphics controller. PCI or PCIx based graphics controllers are not supported.

Unfortunately, Windows desktop computers without either an available AGP graphics or PCIe graphics slot available, and Laptop computers without a built-in dedicated graphics controller cannot be upgraded to this functionality.
Your OS hard drive is not supported. Its only 5400 RPM, 7200RPM minimum is required. Plus you only seem to have one hard drive. You need at least 2 to be supported.

Quote:
IMPORTANT! You MUST use a secondary hard drive (not your main OS drive) for recording and playback of audio in Pro Tools.

Recording or playback from the OS (Operating System) drive is known to be problematic and the cause of many different error types. If you are using your system drive and encountering errors, the first thing you should do is get a compatible drive.

USB drives are not supported and are known to be problematic, so please do not use them with Pro Tools. If you're recording or playing back from a USB drive and are getting errors in Pro Tools, please switch to using a compatible external firewire drive or internal SATA/ATA/IDE drive and disconnect the USB drive.

Pro Tools supports recording and playback to a secondary drive that meets the following requirements:

7200 rpm or faster
9ms seek time or faster

Firewire drives must have the Oxford 911 (FW400 port), Oxford 912 (FW400 & FW800 ports) or Oxford 924 (FW800 ports) Bridge chip. USB drives are not supported and are known to be problematic.
For external E-Sata is best. Another internal drive would be preffered, but e-sata will give the "same" performance give or take.

Have you done the W7 opts?

I don't. Sorry I'm new to the world of pro tools, so if I use a supported external hard drive for recording and playback it should work? Any recommendations?

Since you run Windows 7, you SHOULD be able to record to a USB2 drive as long as it contains a 7200 rpm drive and its not "green"(so called "green" drives usually have power management features that slow them down, or even park them whenever the drive thinks its okay....and it WON'T be okay with you). Speaking of USB, go into Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager and turn OFF power management on all USB ports(double click on each "USB Root Hub" and look for the Power Management tab and uncheck the box).
