Phrase Find for Pro Tools
Using this thread to drum up support for something dialogue editors actually NEED instead of MIDI clip effects. Make our $500 renewals worth something. Sell it as an add-on to include in the Workflow window. Even better, make it a standalone app that will spot clips directly into Pro Tools (similar to Boris Soundbite and Final Cut -- which licensed the exact same technology from Nexidia).

Re: Phrase Find for Pro Tools
It was a dream back when Media Composer introduced it but we were told licensing was an issue.
Now there are many options they could use so it should be looked at seriously. Transcription and an integrated editor in the Workspace would be so great for dialogue editing and narration. (Not that I'd want to take away business from Kraken)

Re: Phrase Find for Pro Tools
Agreed, this is something I'm really waiting for. With german language support in my case.

Re: Phrase Find for Pro Tools
I'm pretty confident that the new track markers with the option to show comments are a first step into this direction. I guess soon there will be an integration of a 3rd party service like Whisper AI.

Re: Phrase Find for Pro Tools
I would be interested in such a feature. Would come in handy searching for cleaner versions of certain words during a dialog edit.

Re: Phrase Find for Pro Tools
+1 for Phrasefind in PT.
We've been asking for it for a while. I currently use Absentia DX which has a slightly flakey but useful version after using Boris for a long time, now obsolete. It would be very good to have it built in to pro tools.

Re: Phrase Find for Pro Tools
Boris was a hidden gem for anyone lucky enough to find out about it. Too bad it never carried over to 64-bit, otherwise we could still use it without having to load it inside a Mojave VM on Parallels (ughk).
Kraken and Soundminer Pro, which is also working on an AI transcriber, are $700 - $900. Pro Tools is $500 a year. PhraseFind for MC is $50 a year. |

Re: Phrase Find for Pro Tools
Best to bump this up the feature request lounge in the Avid Link App so the team would notice
