Mac OS 14.4.1 with PT Studio 2024.3 ??

i know there were some issues recently with Pace, Ilok, USB hubs etc...

but is it OK to goto latest version
a friend is currently on Catalina 10.15.6, on an iMac Pro, i9
and i will be helping him transition to latest OS, (which i think is 14.4.1) and install latest PT Studio as well.... 2024.3

just wanted to make sure there were no issues, as far as PT is concerned...

I updated my Mac Studio M1Max to 14.4.1 about 3 days ago. I already run Protools Studio 2024.3. So far, it seems to be running fine. I am able to open, track, mix, and play previous sessions and my many UA plugins and few Waves plugins are working. I don't use MIDI or Dolby Atmos, so I can't comment on those features.

Ignore the moaners, this is a valid question after the recent and evidently severe issues with Sonoma 14.4 - and deserving of a new thread, especially considering the search function here sucks.

The most recent version of Mac OS is 14.4.1, and the first after the public and extensive issues with 14.4

As yet, I have mostly read that it is okay with Pro Tools 2024.3 - but honestly, I am on 14.3.1 and not planning on upgrading for a while, and after reading more reports that all is well. I reckon that if you can hold off for a while too, it may be the best plan.

I'm not moaning - I agree that you need to understand Sonoma to make sure it works for your situation.

The information that will slowly be passed on to you is that the search function here basically does not work - and the resolution is to use Google and include DUC Avid in your search. Folks prefer to patronise you rather than tell you this directly....

After some reading here and elsewhere it does seem that the general consensus is that 14.4.1 is safe to use with PT 2024.3 - however, as we are all good on 14.3.1 I am going to wait a while before doing an OS upgrade.

I would consider waiting too, or have a bootable backup in place either way just in case.

I am on 14.5 (beta) and it seems to have fixed many of the problems I have on so called golden releases.
