Default Compress 76:30 mono dialog to 73:30 ?

Hello

I need to take 76:30 of mono dialog and compress it down to 73:30

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

PT HD3 6.9 Mac

Thanks, Erinugene

That's 4% which is an EASY feat for Digi's TC/E plugin. IMHO this is the BEST sounding Time Compression/Expansion plugin there is for dry voice. I use it DAILY. I find I can easily squeeze up to 7% before it starts sounding too effected, and it's primarily the speed difference that makes me stop, not the pitch correction.

I would find as much empty space in there as you can and edit it down before you start time compressing. Use it as a last resort.

I would recommend Melodyne. You can time compress audio so easy with it. You have to know how to use it but it is amazing.

Again, I've tried them all and have heard nothing that works on a DRY VOICE better than what comes with PT. I am constantly compressing :60+ seconds out of a 20:00 minute voice track without any artifacts (5-6% squeeze). I have been working this way producing daily radio programs for the last 2.5 years!!

Music is a different story...

YMMV

I'll just second what Eric has stated. I do a great deal of work with audio books and I too use the Digidesign TC/E plug all the time. Below 7 - 8 % and it sounds fine. No artifacts. Random House, Time Warner, Books on Tape, NPR, and Penguin have never complained.

Good luck.

J

BTW - Is that Lancaster, PA?

For the most natural sound, I would go through and remove all the blank areas, breaths, etc...
