I think this description was way over the top and very evidently a joke IF you are initiated to pro gear and their prices. 24 Great Rivers mic pres? That's already north of $20,000. 24 Apogee converters? Built-in TDM card? For $1,299? And also the end of the post is clearly a joke: the M-Box letter?!

So yes, I can totally see where someone who doens't know the prices of a Great River preamp or an Apogee Converter might get thrown off. I just think it was evident to Joel Simone that this would be perceived as a joke!

Humor on the net is a very difficult art to master.
