Default Can I convert my MIDI to notation?

Anyone know of a way to convert a ProTools midi track into a music notation suitable for making band arrangements?

I'd like to use Midi to track individual parts and then convert the MIDI information into notated parts. That way, I can prepare an audio example of the score, solo individual instruments, transpose as necessary, and print out scores and parts.

I'd prefer not to shell out $600 for Finale. I'm much more comfortable working with ProTools.

Perhaps Midinotate or Guitarpro. Both progs have 30day trials I suppose.

I've used Noteworthy Composer software for about 7 years through several versions, and always been very happy with it.

I use it to generate scores from MIDI files, to capture MIDI input from a keyboard, and to notate musical ideas by typing directly into it. The feature set is complete enough for almost anything short of printing out full orchestral scores with individual parts for players, and even that could be pulled off if necessary, it just wouldn't be quite as elegant as the output of Finale. It does lack the flexibility to do highly unusual things like microtonal scores with more or fewer than 5 lines per stave, triple accidentals, non-standard accidental marks, and that kind of thing.

I think it's perfect for brass or string ensemble arrangements for a pop or jazz record, for chord charts, sheet music, choir music, anything like that. It's virtually bug-free (I've never encountered a bug in the latest version). It consumes very few system resources. The learning curve, assuming you already read music, is minimal.

Here's something I did with it that's fairly representative: Grey Havens

Import your midi tracks into Logic (Pro on Mac or 5.5 on PC) and it can print notation for you.
