Playing CDs through the 002

Maybe a simple question..... Is there a way to play CDs through my computer and have the signal routed through the 002 and my monitors without importing the audio into ProTools?

I want to be able to A/B my mix against some other CDs.

Yes you can play through the 002 with the Wavedriver for WMP and Winamp etc..For other programs like Wavelab etc. you use the ASIO driver.

Download and install the Wavedriver from HERE also download the MME helper from the same page to opt your programs in.You can use the 002 as your default soundcard for all Windows playback.

this is probably more of a pain but what I do is, I have a session with all of the songs from cd's that I like to reference with. (something like 30 songs in one session I titled 'reference'.) Anyway, I import whatever songs I want to reference to whatever song. Then I can solo the song and unsolo to compare the two back and forth. It works well for me and you don't have to download any wavedrivers or anything. Just another option.

Then he'll still have to rip the audio off the CD's...
Sharritan >>> just do as Bazzle said. Install the wavedriver and the MME helper.
Or..if your PC soundcard is active, just run it into the 002's aux in.

Select your 002 as default device..And use the MME helper to opt WMP in.

No it wont . It's either PT or one of the driver (wav or Asio) at the time..

You could also simply route a CD player (or the outputs of an enabled soundcard) into the alt inputs of the 002r. Flip the 'route alt to monitor' button to switch between your mix and the CD... Very useful...
