Default Apex 460 or Rode NTK

Which one for my next purchase? Looking for a great sounding guitar cab mic and Male vocals. Preferably tube. Also looking to stay in this price range (as I know there are far better alternatives, just cant afford them now).

I asked the same question on a different forum recently and went with the 460 on the advice that it is a much more versatile microphone because of the adjustable polar pattern.

So far, I am very happy with my purchase, though I can't compare it directly with the NTK. I got mine for $235 from an ebay retailer, but bigbubbaj showed me that I could have gotten it for $229 at musiciansbuy.com

IntelDoc just bought one as well, and he's aready got the NTK, so maybe he will chime in with a comparison.

I use the NTK, and recently bought a second one. Speaking of NTK. I noticed that my first one was serial number 600 and something, hand written. The second was serial 18000 and something. NOT HAND WRITTEN. That was a cool thing.....................

Use the RODE's for room mics now....

Will test the 460 tis week.
