Save Session Copy In copies wrong files
I've just had a strange problem with the 'Save Session Copy In' command and was wondering if anyone else has experienced it. I went to excecute a Save Session Copy In after stripping down my session by removing all unused audio, and found that ProTools began copying audio that I had just removed. This seems like a strange bug, and not one that I have experienced before. Just wondered if it was something anyone else has come across....
btw, I'm using a large Mix system with quite a few cards and the software version is ProTools 5.1.1cs5 thanks in advance |

Re: Save Session Copy In copies wrong files
Did you completely erase the audio from your hard drive or did you just clear it from your audio list in the actual PT session?

Did you still have these audio files in hidden playlists? or hidden tracks?

Re: Save Session Copy In copies wrong files
I have removed the audio from the session (not the hard-disk) - although I don't see what relevance that has in this case.... Basically, the scenario was that I was making stems of a mix. All the bounced audio was placed on new tracks and any other tracks were deleted from the session - thus deleting any hidden playlists. Unused audio was then removed. The region bin on the right shows only the audio for the stems that I had just made, which is correct - yet when I do a Save Session Copy In, it begins copying all the audio from the session that I just cleared out... I am very competent with ProTools and know that it is defiantely copying audio that is not in the session - this is a bug, not user error - and I just wondered if anyone else has experienced it.

Re: Save Session Copy In copies wrong files
I usually do just what you describe, but I'll so a Save As after I've cleared out all of the elements - which means that when Session Copy is selected it's coming from a different document (as I think it might poll the session doc and not necessarily the current state) - maybe that's an idea to try...
Hope that helps, S..

Re: Save Session Copy In copies wrong files
There might be files in the undo queue. Do 'Save As' after clearing out your unused material. Close the session. Re-Open and then try it again.
I agree that this is a bug however. |
