Default Files all over the place!!! WHAAAATT!!

hey sorry for the annoying title. so here it is i put in my new hard drive and moved all me sessions to it which is drive f. ive opedned alot of my sessions and for some reason all the new files ive made in them while its on f all save to my local disk drive c? like some have audio files and some have fade files. how do i make all my files save to drive f?

somewhere in the Preferences dialog there will be a place to specify the default path for sessions.

It's called disk allocation and it's set to " round robin" if my memory serves me correctly. Uncheck that and make sure any new sessions you create that is unchecked. It's under the setup tab in the main file menu.

This problem often happens when you copy a session folder over to a new location and then open it in Pro Tools while the original is still present. If you don't move, rename or delete the original, Pro Tools thinks that the session allocation is still in the original location.

You can consolidate these sessions by doing a "Save Copy In" and include all audio/media files. This will bring everything in the session into a single session folder.

Correction, if you're talking about your session docs that's a different story. but if you're talking about your audio files being spread out through different drives then what i said applies.EDIT: What TOP JIMMY says is correct.
