Default Brent: Please Help!

Obviously there are going to be some latency issues with using an Apogee Rosetta s/pdif into the Mbox.

I am considering getting a Digi001 instead. I have two questions.

1. If I use the Rosetta going s/pdif into the Digi001 can I use "low latency monitoring"? If so, what will be the amount of latency heard on the input source outputing from Protools while recording?

2. When using the s/pdif inputs on the back of Digi001, is it possible to also use the Digi001 mic preamps (analog inputs 1&2) or does the digital input have to come in on inputs 1&2 and take the place of the analog mic preamp/line inputs of 1&2?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">-Although I don't have an exact value to offer you (the Getting Started manual only describes it as "extremely low latency"), it is my best guess it would be in the area of .5-1.5ms. Since you wouldn't have the A/D conversion time going through the analog inputs, I would imagine that you could achieve latency values at the lower end of that range when inputting via S/PDIF.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">The Analog and S/PDIF inputs are mutually exclusive of one another. Therefore, you may use all 8 analog inputs and the S/PDIF inputs simultaneously. (you may also access the 8 ADAT optical inputs as well)
