Default PT9 purchase advice

Hi all,

I'm a student (in Australia) in the market for PT9 and an MBox 3 (or mini) but there are a few hurdles in my way.

1. I've read about static issues with the MBox 3 Mini and Macs, and the lack of support for people affected

2. I'm not too sure if I'll regret not getting an MBox 3 if I get a mini later on

3. Education version takes minimum 2 weeks to get here

I'm using a iMac 27 inch, so I'm not too sure if I'll get static on MBox 3 + iMac, or if it's just MacBook Pros. Does the MBox 3 have another set of issues with Macs?

Are there any cheaper alternatives to the MBox which cooperate/work really well with ProTools and OSX?

Really appreciate the help! Need to get this decision made ASAP.

I use protools 9.01 great /substential improvement from pt8. is so man y ways.
As it si wit hpt 9 you do not have to use Mbox3 though I hear good things about it. I decided to go with MOTU 896 mrk III I also hear good things about RME
But definitley pro tools .
Ido dnto think there are any fixes that avid will not correct especially when working with a mac .
there are different schools about external/dedicated drive for recording music. I use an external Glypth HD . Expensive but I have no issues .
Stick to what is industry standard as a beginner and yo uwill have tons of support and tutorials .

Ah, I just got a LaCie Rugged drive. Oh well.

I'd like to hear of any issues with the Mbox 3 Mini + Mac and if there has been resolution.
