Default Mac Book Pro Fire Wire will not talk to Digi 003 or External Hard Drive

Hello,

I am having major issues getting my new Mac Book Pro connecting to my Digi 003 or a basic external hard drive. i know it is not the cable or the Fire Wire Port. My Mac Book recognizes my ART Tube Fire 8 (which is useless I believe unless I can get my computer to talk to my Digi 003. I have pro tools 9. Mac Book Pro 10.67. I want to be able to use all possible channels at once which between my tube fire 8 and my Digi 003 should be 12 channels. Any thoughts or advice?

I don't think you can use the 002 in the aggregate device list if that's what you're trying to accomplish.

what I have is an 003....I downloaded the right drivers for it. When I go through y tube fire 8 the link light lights up on my Digi 003 so I know the port is okay...the host light will not show up though.

You can't use the 003 as an aggregate device either.

when I got my new 003, i read on the forum that you have to hold down the N key as ProTools is loading, and then you can set 003 as the device.

it worked for me, hopefully for you
