Default Could not complete the Playback Engine command because Volume not found..

I just spent a few hours recording some new tracks today, alongside some old tracks, & all was fine.

When I quit PT, it crashed.

I tried restarting from several backup session files, but when I play back, no sound comes from the monitors, tho I can see the track level meters fluctuating as usual. Old tracks, or newly recorded tracks, no sound.

When I try to change the Playback Engine settings, I get the message:
Could not complete the Playback Engine command because Volume not found (-35) while opening...

This has been happening ocassionally for the last week, ever since I installed PT 7.4.2 and upgraded to Mac OS 10.5.5 on my new iMac 2.4Ghz w/4 G of RAM.

WAIT, NEW INFO: the session works fine when I turn on my external drive, tho the session folder (& all audio & others files) are on my internal drive.

How do I remove this dependency on the external drive?
(I know you're not supposed to used the internal driver, but it's been working fine otherwise.)

Thanx in advance.

To the original Post! READ THIS
10.5.5 is not qualified. Scroll down about 1/3 of the page.
One thing you could try it copying to the external and open from there. The other thing is going to the setup tab and checking "disk allocation"
