Audio Skips when playing back CD's

This is a totally unrelated Protools topic, but an audio related one none the less...

When ever I play back audio from an Audio CD in either iTunes or WMP I get occasional skipping & pops through the analog & S/PDIF outs on the built in sound card. Is there any way of giving this a higher priority in Windows XP? This is what I am running...

Most likely an issue with your CD-rom drive. Try aother drive, their dirt cheap, and very simple to replace.
