Anyways, I have been using my PBook G4 since December. It took me a while to learn OSX but i finally got it (I think.) We, windows users, like to learn every little detail about our systems. It is not that easy with a Unix Based OSX. If you just want to use audio and do nothing else, you do not have to learn all this but i can even use the terminal effectively now. Anyways, after 10.2.6 i just love to turn my powerbook on whenever i get a chance. It is a different experience. A really good one.

I also have a dell 2350 desktop that i bought on Ebay for 299.- I originally bought it for just serving my website ( http://yavuz.dhs.org ) but now i also can do audio on it while serving web pages.

I just want to say i that i love both of my computers for different reasons. I can finally say that. What a nightmare Win98 was or... OS9.2 etc.... Both platforms are great now WinXP and OSX. They should have been that way from the beginning but they were not. Oh well... back to music.

that is actually the same laptop that has been posted on here. ECS the company that makes it just makes a barebones notebook and that company that you buy it from adds the cpu, hard drive and some other stuff.

I've found a few different companies selling them for very different prices. The most common in the us being pcclub.com (is pcclub on an la thing or does everyone else have pcclub?)

I'm going to pick one up soon but I figured I'm going to wait a month and see what changes (price/performance) as I don't need it asap. Just got my digi 002 rack today. toys to play with!

what exactly is winkel?

Hehe...winkel (dutch) means store/shop but Coffeeshop doesn't mean Koffiewinkel here in Amsterdam.. although you can drink there coffee too.

I love the Dutch language - I laugh (a LOT) every time I go to Amsterdam. Some of the words are just like English, but with hilarious spelling. And some of the words are long and unpronouncable.

But as long as I can read Coffeeshop, I have no problem.
