Default Can't Remove AAX Plugins

I'm trying to clean up some unused plugins, so I move them from:

Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-ins

...to

Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-ins (Unused)

However, when I launch PT again, it creates new copies of the removed plugins back in the plugins folder! The removed plugins are in fact in the Unused folder still, there is just a new copy of them in the original plugins folder, very bizarre. The plugs I'm trying to move are

BF-76
ChannelStrip
DynamicsIII
Maxim

Anyone else seen this? I'm on PT 11.2.1 on OSX 10.9.5.

Avid's stock plugins are stored inside the Pro Tools package. Every time you run Pro Tools, it scans the plugin folder and copies over any missing plugins. You can stop this if you remove those plugins from the Pro Tools package.

Thanks much for that info Top Jimmy. I didn't think I could remove any of those plug-ins. Moved bf76, maxim, mastermeter, intune, & eleven free...I never use any of these.

You can remove them from the PT app itself, but it's obviously an unsupported procedure. Just take a look inside the app and you'll find what you need to remove.

"look inside the app"... how is this done?

EDIT - Control-click (Mac) on the app icon and you can open the package. Sorry I didn't figure this out before asking.

Can I get an update on this.

Trying to delete a bunch of bundled plugins (lo-fi, sci-fi, maxim, Eleven, etc...). I've unpacked the main Protools icon from the application menu, deleted unwanted plugins from the plugin sub-folder but load up PT and I can still see them in the drop-menus.

Also removed them from Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-ins. At first I moved them to the 'unused' folder - that didn't make them disappear. Then I deleted them completely - that hasn't worked either.

Computer has been restarted multiple times. I've run Onyx (system maintenance tool i've usd for years) to flush any unseen system/application caches, but still the unwanted plugins persist in my menus.

What to try next?

Try deleting prefs and databases before starting Pro Tools again.

Thanks Top Jimmy.

Repeated the deletes, followed immediately by a system clean. Drop menus are now as I want them.
