PT 10.3.8 Crashes after closing session

Hello,

I am using 10.3.8 on an HD-4 system. There is no new hardware since this problem started.
After saving (and waiting for it to save) and closing the PT session at 96k 24 bit, the sessions appears to close normally. Then a window pops up saying that Pro Tools quit unexpectedly.
After this the TAB button no longer works (strange…).
Also, when I open the application again, the computer freezes up and restarts itself.
Sometimes after the restart, the TAB button still does not work.
My main concern is that this is happening after EVERY time that I close a session. (The sessions save accurately and open up ok afterwards. They do not get corrupted.)
I have a feeling it's a plug-in.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Any help would be appreciated. Restarting the computer 15 times a day cannot be good for the Mac!!

Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you trashed prefs?

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled?

I'd start there. You can also remove all but the stock plugs to test your theory that a 3rd party plug is at fault.
